Dear Members/Supporters of INTECOL,

The planning of the IX Congress in Montreal, Canada, joint with the Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of America, is now well advanced. For further details of the Congress and the arrangements so far please visit our web page at http://www.intecol.net/IX-Montreal/9-montreal.htm. We now have a very strong programme in terms of symposia, organised oral sessions and workshops. However, the call for offered paper and poster sessions is still open, but the deadline is fast approaching (March 1st). I hope to see many more important contributions in these sessions too so that the Congress has an exceptionally strong programme overall.

I would like to take this opportunity also to encourage as many of you as possible to join INTECOL through our website (http://www.intecol.net/). Let me remind you that we are offering free membership in 2004/2005 and that membership is open to all those who have an interest in the science of ecology and its application.

Please take the time to complete the application/renewal form on the web. I very much look forward to welcoming both old and new members to INTECOL, and hope to meet many of you in Montreal in August.
