A meeting summary is attached that incompletely captures the interactions and experiences of all of us. If you are not already an INTECOL member, then we warmly invite you to join and help to advance the science of ecology worldwide. You can do this readily through our website www.intecol.net where membership is currently free. The membership is growing and we currently have members from 93 countries. Inquiries about hosting the next meeting are being accepted until at least November, 2008. If you are interested in hosting a meeting, then please send an email to R. The INTECOL Brisbane conference (http://www.intecol10.org/) 16-21 August, 2009, is an opportunity to organize several sessions on wetlands as a follow-up to the Cuiabá wetland meeting.
